Vendor dyes melons dark green to woo customers

A fruit vendor in Saudi Arabia was caught dying his melons with dark green colour to lure customers on the grounds this colour indicates the melon is ripe and red.

Newspapers said municipal authorities arrested the vendor after he was shown on YouTube dying the melons at his shop in the Gulf Kingdom.

“The dealer was arrested after he tried to cheat a Saudi buyer who filmed him dying his melons with dark green,” Sada daily said without mentioning where the vendor is based.
