A witness says a naked man continued to chew on the face of another naked man on a Miami highway ramp and growled when a police officer tried to stop him.
Larry Vega tells WSVN-TV in Miami that he was riding his bicycle on Saturday when he saw the man tearing at the victim's flesh with his mouth.
Vega says both he and a police officer yelled at the man to stop. Vega says the attacker just growled and kept chewing.
The officer repeatedly fired at the attacker, killing him.
The victim remained hospitalised on Monday. Vega says the victim's face looked like "a blob of blood."
Few details about the attack have been released. Police say neither man's identity is known.
