A drunk woman rammed her stiletto heel through her boyfriend's eye and into his brain during an argument.

Staci Hargreaves, 33, was in the back of a cab when she kicked Gavin Taylor, 28, after he turned round in the front seat, reports the Daily Mail.

David McGonigal, prosecuting, said Hargreaves was wearing three inch-high stiletto heels, one of which caused her boyfriend serious injuries.

He was quoted as saying the Bradford Crown Court: "The heel of one shoe went through the left eye of Gavin Taylor and fractured the socket and entered his brain and caused a blood vessel to burst."

Taylor began coughing up blood and slumped into unconsciousness following the attack in Huddersfield, the court heard.

He was taken to hospital where his condition initially deteriorated before he eventually made a 'surprising' recovery, the jury heard.

He underwent two operations and was in hospital for a month.

The prosecutor said Hargreaves told police she could not recall the incident but told officers she may have kicked out and unintentionally caused the injuries.

Meanwhile, taxi driver Mohammed Akbar told the jury that he noticed his front seat passenger turn round after he had been arguing with Hargreaves.

Akbar said he drove his taxi to the nearest police station and sounded his horn until officers came out to help.

Hargreaves on Tuesday denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent and an alternative charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm, reports the Daily Mail.

The trial continues.
