Flying K9: Dog survives four-storey fall

Published

On December 3, two-year-old Shiba Inu puppy miraculously survived a four-storey fall.

Kai had a fall from the roof garden of an Upper West Side townhouse over an unguarded ledge.

According to New York Post, owner Tracy Aron considers Kai's survival as a miracle. A week after falling from 50 feet, the puppy is able to walk up and down the stairs.

It happened when Aron took Kai to the roof. Aron noticed that the lattice fence surrounding the garden had been removed because of a renovation.

Kai playfully jumped from roof to roof, bounding over the knee-high ledge.

While Kai was in a playful mood he miss-judged a jump and had a big fall.

Aron witnessed Kai launching himself from the back of the building thinking there was another roof. He saw Kai fall and then heard a thud and his crying.

Traumatized Aron called 911 for help.

The police helped transport the injured pooch to a vet, where the puppy was put in the intensive-care unit for three nights.

A week later, Kai was home and healthy. He injured his right eye and is on steroids to reduce swelling but no bones were broken.
