An Indian woman with two wombs gave birth to two boys - one from each uterus. Delivering healthy babies conceived in different ovaries is so rare an average of one case is reported each year anywhere in the world.

The chances of carrying a baby in each of the wombs at the same time are one in fifty million.

Twenty-eight-year-old Rinku from Patna, India, who already have a son and knew this time she was carrying twins was stunned to learn of her medical condition during labour, reported Dailymail.

It was also first case of the kind for the gynaecologist who delivered the premature babies weighing 1.5 and 2 kilograms. "It is very rare," said Dr Dipti Singh and added that most women with the condition were not even aware of it as it rarely caused other symptoms.

The caesarian surgery lasted for about an hour.
