A man from Bangladesh who lives in London has been barred from getting too close to his wife who is mentally challenged and has the mental age of four to eight.

The husband already has a second wife, who also happens to be his first wife's cousin and also has two children by her. However, he still insists on continuing sexual relations with his first wife, reports Daily Mail.

The 39-year-old first wife has been taken into care under the Mental Health Act by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, but the husband wants her back at home so that he can have sex with both his wives on alternate days.

The woman's children have also been taken away by the social care workers as she does not have the ability to look after them.

The Daily Mail quoted Mr Justice Mostyn as saying: "The evidence clearly shows that TB has barely an inkling of the health risks involved. She was unable to link sex to pregnancy.

Indeed, she had virtually no idea how her babies came to be in her tummy (as she put it). Although she found sex enjoyable and comfortable she had no idea that she had a choice and could refuse."

The court also found evidence of domestic violence and the judge said that the couple obviously have a stormy relationship, especially when the man loses his temper.

The woman will remain under 24-hour care, away from her husband, as she does not have the capacity or understanding to consent to sex.
