In battle for his life, a man fought off a shark and survived to tell the tale. According to Fox affiliate WFXT-TV, the man in his 40’s was in the water with his son when he was bitten on the leg by a shark off Ballston Beach in Truro on Monday.
Luckily for him, a surgeon happened to be on the beach. He treated the man until an emergency crew arrived. The surgeon reported that it appeared to be a "bull shark," and witnesses reported seeing a fin above the water just before the victim was attacked.
The unidentified man was then transported to Cape Cod Hospital; his condition is reported as stable.
Officials on Cape Cod in Massachusetts are cautioning beachgoers of this popular beach to swim at their own risk following the shark attack.
