A Pakistani man who was declared dead at hospital in Ras Al Khaimah returned to life 30 minutes after a strenuous resuscitation operation.

The man, in his 30s, was rushed to Saqr Hospital by friends after collapsing at work and doctors diagnosed him as a dead man with no heart pulse, apnea and dilated eye pupils, the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.

“He had all signs of death and was diagnosed as a dead man…but doctors still decided to try and revive him,” the paper said.

Nearly 30 minutes after a resuscitation operation, the patient’s heart began beating again and doctors decided to move him to the intensive care unit.

He was supported with respiratory and other systems for four days before he opened his eyes and woke up, the paper said.

“It was a strange case and our doctors exerted sincere and strenuous efforts to save this man,” said Dr Abdullah al Nuaimi, the Hospital’s director, adding that the patient’s condition is now stable after
having an infarction.
