Suicide bomb threat: 3 Indian airports on high alert

Published

Airports across India have been put on high alert after the Airport Authority of India (AAI) received a letter on Friday saying that the Kochi- Mumbai and Ahmedabad - Mumbai flights would be attacked on October 25 and 26, according to a Hindustantimes report.

Reports suggest suicide bombers could board the planes in the early hours.

Security at Kochi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports has been tightened with enhanced screening of passengers and rigorous anti-sabotage checks.

Rapid Action Force personnel have been deployed at Kochi airport, while access to all airports has been strictly restricted.

A security official was quoted as saying that “all such threats are taken seriously, even if it is an act of some mischief monger”.
