Sunanda Pushkar poisoned; Family drag Shashi Tharoor back into case

Published

The mystery surrounding the death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Indian Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, took a new turn with the latest post-mortem report by the AIIMS medical  board stating the cause of her death as poisoning.

The board also criticises Delhi Police for not providing essential evidence needed, reported indiatoday.

The police failed to give “circumstantial evidences and statements” about the reason for the physical injuries on Pushkar’s body, claimed the medical report. While, police said that they “still do not have a conclusive forensic report” and that the “inquest is pending”.

The information not provided by the Investigating Officer include photographs of scene of occurrence; who prescribed the drugs present in the hotel room; from where was it purchased and for whom, the medical board added.

Family suspects Tharoor’s role

Meanwhile, a cousin of Pushkar in an interview with Zee Media has involved Tharoor again in the case.

He claimed that Pushkar could never have committed suicide as she was the one who advised others on how to lead their lives.

He claimed that she was upset with Tharoor’s alleged closeness with the Pakistani journalist. And he also asked why Tharoor would have gone for a meeting when his wife was unwell, reported zeenews.india.com
