Arsenal shock move for Chelsea’s Essien to fill Song role

Arsenal will attempt to seal a shock move for Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.

Arsene Wenger will attempt to complete a signing the Blues ace on loan for the season.

According to The Sun, the Ghana star, 29, has been linked with an £8million switch from Stamford Bridge to Fenerbahce in Turkey, but Arsenal boss Wenger will move to give Essien the chance to stay in the Premier League.

Wenger is looking to fill in a hole left by in midfield by Alex Song who joined Barcelona for £15m.
Essien, in seven years at Chelsea, has scored 17 goals and is a holding midfielder who could play a Song role, leaving the likes of Mikel Arteta free to attack more.

    Wenger is not bringing in anymore new players because he likes to prove that his squad is solid enough to compete, not for cups but,a place in the champions league.
