Arsenal shocker: Bendtner return puts Llorente, Lopez out for Wenger

On loan at Juventus, Danish striker aims to impress tonight

Arsene Wenger is about to prove to the Emirates and the legions of Gunners fans why he is one of footballing’s higher powers.

Despite his 35 million pound war chest ready on hand, Wenger will probably not move to buy an established new striker in the January window.

This is because he already has a striker – out on loan, getting ready for his big Arsenal comeback.

Nicklas Bendtner at Juventus is set to be Wenger’s big trump card and Arsenal’s excellent run in the start to the Premier League this season, with just one striker really firing – Lukas Podolski – is only going to serve Bendtner’s future.

While Olivier Giroud has yet to find his feet and the goal for Arsenal, Bendtner was once considered Arsenal’s great strike force.

Wenger himself has refused to rule out a future for Bendtner at the Emirates, Bendtner believes he is ready for the big time.

Bendtner, 24, said: “At Juventus, the training has been different to — and much harder than — anything I’ve done before.

“Because of that, my form is at a peak. I’m much sharper.

“Without playing, I’m down to fighting weight and that’s never happened before.”

Italy face Bendtner and Denmark tonight in a World Cup qualifier.

“For me, it’s a battle that Denmark must win rather than a battle that Nicklas must win.”

Wenger will be keeping a close eye on Bendtner – he could still very well be the smart buy (and loan) that still is a return on investment.

GREAT DANE

Llorente will be a gunner, unless we can muster a move for Falcao-though that is unlikely given his possible wage demands...

If he does well at Juventus they will keep him because of the low buyout clause in the contract. Lose-lose for Arsenal.

    Arsenal should sell more players
