Arsenal to buy Atletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente

Arsenal are busy preparing for life without Robin van Persie and players are being shortlisted as fitting replacements.

The latest to make Arsene Wenger’s shortlist is Fernando Llorente.

According to The Daily Mail, Wenger and his scouts have spoken at depth about a move for the Atletic Bilbao and Spain striker.

Wenger could use the money generated from Van Persie's sale to but the 27-year-old, who scored 28 goals for Bilbao last season.

Llorente is reported to have a £28million release clause in his contract.
