Depending on which report you believe coming out of the Emirates ahead of Spurs clash today, Arsenal will either have its full team back – more or less; or Arsene Wenger is preparing himself and the Gunners’ fans for the worst.

Various British press had various players fit and returning from injury.

From Tomas Rosicky and Gervinho to Wojciech Szczesny, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain; there were reports suggesting that all were set to be fit for the visit of Tottenham.

Kieran Gibbs has yet to recover from injury, so Wenger will play Thomas Vermaelen or Andre Santos.

However, Arsene Wenger, instead of a rallying cry or show of confidence made a pragmatic, realistic appraisal of the situation.

He said: “There are so many — I think we need a few doctors.

“We have so many players who have come back with injuries or small injuries.

“We will see, but it is difficult to give you a clear idea of who will be available or not.”

Bacary Sagna, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are all likely to start, but Wenger focused on complaining about the international schedule.

“What do I make of it? At the moment, if you are selected you have to go, unless you say you’re injured.

“I understand completely that in Spain, the competition is so high that if a guy turns it down and there is suspicion there, the next time he will not be called up.

“Could Cazorla have done without that trip? Of course. He could have got injured, so I personally don’t complain, but he must not be very happy,” he was quoted as saying in The Sun .
