For 45 minutes against Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at Old Trafford Manchester United played like a team asking to be beaten.

At the heart of that team was a 38-year old genius whose time has perhaps come.
Paul Scholes played a game that by his high standards, was terrible.
He slowed the game down, gave the ball away and tackled terribly.
He even gave up a chance to volley from just outside the ‘D’.
That Sir Alex Ferguson picked Scholes to play in what should have been a routine home game – despite having Tom Cleverley and Anderson available – speaks of the midfield crisis United still have.
Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher are now up and running to do the job of the holding midfielder.
Surely it is time to let Scholes go, or at least, come off the bench.
The difference after Anderson came on was startling and sparkling.
He moved the ball fast and attacked with pace.
In 10 second half minutes, United had pulled into a 2-1 lead after going 1-0 down to a QPR goal inside the first 15 minutes of the second half.
The crucial third goal came from Anderson and Javier Hernandez.
"It is fantastic to play with Paul Scholes," Carrick had said of Scholes last week. "He is a genius. We all know what he can do. A lot of them you simply cannot teach. You can learn and take things from his game, as I have done since I have been here.
The fact is United have to learn to do without Scholes and Anderson showed perhaps, his time has indeed come.
