Man Utd may Spur Luka Modric to Old Trafford

Sir Alex Ferguson sorely needs a creative and experienced mid-fielder who can take over from Paul Scholes, until the likes of Tom Cleverley and Anderson are ready and able.

Sir Alex has made no bones about his admiration for Spurs this season and the heart of that has been Modric’s creative flair.

But boss Harry Redknapp revealed: “I don’t know where we are at with Luka. I’m sure the club is looking to tie him up.”
