Robert Lewandowski is the one hot striker who did not move in the transfer market despite interest from a host of clubs.

Lewandowski will now have the chance to remind the big clubs in England why he is still a talent worth purchasing.

Manchester United were reported to be one of the clubs interested in the Polish striker.

However, Arsenal are clearly in the hunt for a second striker and Liverpool are now in a desperate situation due to injuries.

Wenger has been most forthright about getting another striker at the Emirates and the presence of Lukas Podolski might make it easier for Lewandowski to follow the same Bundesliga to Premier League path.

England play Poland on Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier and Poland and Borussia Dortmund superstar is getting ready to shoot England down.

Lewandowski avoided comparisons with England’s Wayne Rooney as well.

He added: “It’s not Rooney against Lewandowski. He will fight against Polish defenders, I will fight against English defenders.”

Lewandowski was linked with a £35million move to Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson was in the stands to watch City’s 1-1 draw with Dortmund.

Lewandowski added: “I haven’t had the chance to play in England but, maybe, one day. What I like about British football is that it is fast and hard. For sure it would be interesting but there’s no straight answer for the moment.”

England goalkeeper Joe Hart kept Lewandowski out in Manchester City’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Borussia Dortmund 11 days ago.

The keeper said: “I’m ready for Lewandowski and, hopefully, I can keep him out again this time. But it would be nice if it isn’t as open as the last time I played against him.”
