Samir Nasri is set to complete his switch to Manchester City from Arsenal within 24 hours after it emerged the midfielder was to undergo a medical on Thursday.
The French international has refused to sign a new contract with the north London club and has not feature Arsenal's opening Premier League match against Newscastle on Sunday.
Just days after the Gunners finally bid farewell to captain Cesc Fabregas for £35 million it seems Arsenal will swell their coffers by a further £23m with the sale of Nasri.
The 24-year-old is expected to sign a five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, following Gael Clichy, as well as Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor, in turning his back on Arsenal in favour of City.
In completing the deal for Nasri, Roberto Mancini will take his spending this summer beyond £70m after the Stefan Savic for £6m and club-record signing Sergio Aguero for £39m, as well as the £7m spent on Clichy.
Nasri's imminent split from Arsenal will bring to an end one of the summer's most acrimonious transfer tussles.
