Drake & Scull unit wins Dh189m Saudi hospital contract

Drake & Scull International (DSI) on Wednesday announced that its subsidiary Drake & Scull Saudi Arabia has won a Dh189 million MEP contract for Al-Dara Hospital and Medical Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The contract will start immediately and be completed by January 2016.

DSI said it will undertake installation, testing and commissioning of critical MEP systems like HVAC, plumbing and firefighting system, water treatment plant, medical gases system, fuel system, building management system and electrical systems for the hospital.

The 107-bed Al-Dara Hospital and Medical Center will be located close to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh and will be spread over an area of 27,500 square meters. Carillion Saudi Arabia is the main contractor of the outpatient facility.

The project win raises the company’s total project awards to date to approximately Dh5.27 billion, with new projects in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Algeria, Jordan, India, Romania, Turkey and Egypt.
