Taj Palm to open in Q4 2012

ETA Star, the real estate arm of the ETA Star-Ascon Group, plans to open the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Palm Crescent, Jumeirah, in the fourth quarter of 2012, while handover of The Grandeur Residences is likely in March 2011.
 
“We haven’t stopped construction on Taj Exotica, but it is albeit slow. We will now be opening not earlier than the last quarter of 2012. The Grandeur Residences, located at the Palm Jumeirah Crescent, are scheduled to be handed over in March 2011,” ETA Star Executive Director Abid A Junaid told Emirates 24|7.

Taj Exotica was scheduled to open in 2010.
 
The Dh1.2 billion Taj Exotica Resort & Spa and The Grandeur Residences, was launched in May 2006 in partnership with the Taj Group of Hotels.

The 232-room hotel, modeled on the archetypal palaces of Rajasthan, will have the Jiva Spa which will be the largest spa in the Middle East.
 
The Grandeur Residences has 220 fully-furnished one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including ten beachfront villas. Taj Hotels will service all Grandeur Residences units.
 
This website had reported in February that Nakheel was committed to opening at least five hotels on the Palm Jumeirah by 2011.

A Nakheel's spokesperson then had said: "Palm Jumeirah will become one of the world's premier resorts, offering more than 30 beachfront hotels, located on the island's trunk and crescent."

A number of hotels on Palm Jumeirah's crescent and trunk are currently under construction, including Fairmont Hotel & Residences, Royal Amwaj and Oceana's Movenpick Hotel. Atlantis, The Palm, was opened in September last year.
 
The Palm Trilogy - Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira - were originally intended to house 210 hotels as when they were completed, with Palm Jumeirah having 30 hotels, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira - together - accounting for another 180 hotels.
