Free air ticket for Dubai studio tenants

Rising rentals were a pet peeve of Dubai residents last year, and despite numerous reports suggesting a softening of rentals this year, the remains a little hazy with some residents complaining of rental hikes even as others acknowledge that their rents are stabilising.

Nevertheless, it is tough for those out in the market looking to rent a pad to call home, as affordability and availability are two very different things – and to find them in one Dubai apartment or villa isn’t always the easiest of tasks.

Analysts, however, insist that residential prices may have peaked and are set to soften this year. “We’ve reached the peak of prices for residential in Dubai and that’s a good thing. We are at the top of the cycle now and we believe that both prices and rents will decline this year,” Craig Plumb, Head of Research at JLL’s Dubai office, said in a recent quarterly analysis of the sector.

Quick to recognise this trend, a recently opened luxury furnished suites has launched a new promotional campaign, which offers guests residing for 12 months at the hotel apartments a free air-ticket to any desired destination of their choice worldwide.

Located in one of the busiest Dubai addresses, Jannah Place Dubai Marina offers the usual stuff – equipped kitchen, including washing machines, a fridge, microwave, a kettle and toaster, etc. – in addition to free high speed Wi-Fi connection and free basement parking.

“It was a logical step for us, when we were looking into creating appealing long-term offers, to add an air-ticket to the overall package. Our research states that our guests choose our suites – among many other reasons – as they can be sure their homes will be taken care off also while they are traveling,” says Nehme Imad Darwiche, CEO of Jannah Hotels & Resorts.

According to data published by Dubai Statistics Centre, there were a total of 206 hotel apartment buildings in Dubai as of June 30, 2014, offering almost 24,000 rooms. This is up from 195 buildings offering almost 23,000 rooms at the end of 2013.

More than 2.3 million guests stayed in hotel apartments in 2013, while the number stood at 1.18 million at the half-way mark in 2014, until which DSC data is available.
