Why some Dubai villa residents went to work without a shower

Residents in Emaar’s villa communities of The Springs and The Meadows are facing water troubles.

Several residents complained about no or erratic water supply this morning, with some going to work without their morning shower.

Residents in these communities took to social networking websites to voice their concerns. People living in Springs 2, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 15 seem to be affected. Those living in Meadows 9 have also voiced their concern about disruptive water supply in their community.

The trouble seems to have arisen due to a pipeline issue and officials have told residents that the issue should be resolved soon.

“It is perhaps a pipe that has broken, affecting the water supply and Dewa officers said that it is getting fixed,” reported a resident of the community.

“It’s a breakage in the Jumeirah pipe, which affects The Springs and will be fixed by 10pm,” wrote another resident.

In the past, residents in the neighbouring communities of Jumeirah Islands have also complained about water supply problems.

Last year, around the same time, a pipeline issue led to Jumeirah Islands residents going without water for hours and had to use water from their swimming pools.
