A Sharjah college has announced to sponsor tuition fees of 16 students, including 8 students from Pakistani Schools in UAE and 8 students from Indian Schools in UAE, for the academic year starting from September 2014.

Skyline University College (SUC) in association with Pakistan Association Dubai and Indian Consulate has tied up for sponsoring tuition fee for these students of grade 12.

After taking financial conditions of the students into account, SUC will be paying one full year tuition fees in total for all the students who would be found eligible for the scholarship, the college said in a media statement. However, names of these students are yet to be finalised, it noted.

“Skyline believes in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility towards the community, society and stakeholders enabling them to continue studies by offering various types of scholarships,” said Nitin Anand, COEC, Skyline University College.

“SUC will be paying one full year tuition fees in total for all the students who would be found eligible for the scholarship and we have initiated these efforts through the support of Indian Consulate for Indian students and Pakistani Association Dubai for Pakistani students so that we are able to reach to the students who really deserve to avail the benefit of this grant.”

SUC says it will be offering scholarships to financially needy students who are denied education because of limited income. The college also offers merit-based scholarships in addition to scholarships to the students who can join BBA and MBA programs once they finish their high school.

Total funds allocated by Skyline for the scholarships amounts to Dh70 million, spread over a period of four years, the college said in the statement.
