Nadeem grabbed three wickets to guide William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana to a narrow two-wicket victory over Interface Transworld, the title sponsors of the 23rd Sharjah Ramadan Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium on Friday night.
With this victory, the Abu Dhabi team has moved into the semifinals of the tournament which is supported by 106.2 HUM FM and CBFS as associate sponsors.
Nadeem conceded just 14 runs for his three wickets as Interface Transworld, batting first, scored 174 for nine in the allotted 25 overs. Jagrit Anand led their batting charge with a solid 65 off 52 balls which included five fours and three sixes.
Puneet Mehra (26 off 28), Nalin (24 off 14) and Tushar (22 off 16) also made useful contributions to the Interface Transworld innings, but all their efforts, in the end, proved in vain.
Abu Dhabi Gymkhana, in reply, held their nerve to overhaul the Interface total with three balls to spare. Saqib Shah (39 off 28 with five fours and one six), Shafiq (38 off 28) and Awais (22 not out off 19 balls) led the run chase with some fine batting. Puneet and Talha took two wickets each.
