CPL T20 SKN vs GAW: Smith, Mohammed steer Amazon Warriors to thrilling win

A superb bowling performance from Sohail Tanvir and Adam Zampa helped the Guyana Amazon Warriors to victory in their opening fixture of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in a thrilling finish.

Tanvir and Zampa picked up seven wickets between them as the Patriots were restricted to 164-9 on a very good Warner Park pitch, but it proved to be a target that was chased down by Guyana with four wickets in hand and just one ball to spare.

An unbeaten knock off 42 off 29 balls from Jason Mohammed steered Guyana Amazon Warriors to a thrilling four-wicket win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Friday.

Chasing a target of 165, a swashbuckling half century from Dwayne Smith (62 off 36 balls) put Warriors on course with Guptill (22) sharing an opening stand of 62 in 6 overs.

Smith smashed five sixes and three boundaries before Patriots clawed their way back in the middle overs.

However, Mohammed held his nerve cracking six boundaries in his knock to steer Warriors home.

Belligerent knocks from veteran Brad Hodge (38), Devon Thomas (38) and Thisara Perera (20) powered St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 164-9 after being put into bat by Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Tanvir bowled brilliantly to scalp four for 16 while Zampa purchased three for 34.
