ECB Blues too strong for Ibsons

Satya Ramesh and Ahmed Raza smashed solid half-centuries while Mohammed Tauqir had a four-wicket haul to help ECB Blues defeat Ibsons CC by 56 runs in the Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium.

Ramesh hit 59 off 78 balls and Raza weighed in with 57 off as many balls to propel ECB Blues to a healthy 267 for nine in the allotted 50 overs.
Irfan Sajid was the most successful Ibsons CC bowler, taking three for 42.
Ibsons CC, in reply, were bowled out for 211 in the 41st over with former UAE captain Tauqir taking four for 23 while Ahmed Raza rounded off a fine all-round performance when he picked up two wickets for 32 runs.
Experienced Baber Malik and Mohammed Tanvir did make their presence with some fine batting, but they lacked support from other batsmen. Malik slammed 82 off 71 balls with six fours and four wickets while Tanvir made 77 off 100 balls with seven fours and two sixes to delay the inevitable.

Eurocon win easily
Eurocon Alubond CC, riding on a solid team performance, comfortably kept up their dominance over AEN CC, winning the one-sided match by nine wickets in the third Al Dhaid Gold Cup 40-overs-a-side tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.
Eurocon first shot out their opponents for a paltry 108 in the 28th overs and then knocked off the winning runs in just 8.4 overs.
