IPL 7 T20 RR vs RCB: Rajasthan crush Bangalore by 6 wickets

Rajasthan Royals thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets in Match 14 of IPL 7 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

After having skittled RCB for 70, RR achived the target with few hiccups to notch up their second win of the competition.

Rahane (23) and Watson (24) led the run-chase with Nayar hitting the winning runs to make 71-4 in 13 overs.

Rajasthan moved to third in the table behind leaders Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings after one of the most lopsided contests.

Starc claimed two for 29.

RAJASTHAN INNINGS

Nayar edges Chahal past slip for the winning hit as Rajasthan complete a comprehensive six-wicket win against Bangalore with seven overs to spare.

Watson clubs Chahal for another six over midwicket but attempting to score the winning hit is out next ball. RR 68-4 in 12.5 overs.

Watson steps up the run chase clubbing Chahal back over the bowler's head for a six. RR 55-3 in 11 overs.

Watson shrugs off an appeal for a catch behind by threading Starc down the ground for a delightful boundary. RR 40-3 in 7 overs.

Starc gets another wicket as Karan is caught behind. RR 36-3 in 6.3 overs.

Rahane is on song cracking a couple of boundaries off Starc. RR 24-0 in 3 overs.

Rajasthan have begun the run chase with a couple of boundaries from Rahane off Rampaul. RR 11-0 in 1 over.

BANGALORE INNINGS

The mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore are skittled for 70 in 15 overs after being put into bat by Rajasthan Royals.

RCB never got going once binny struck with his fourth delivery.

Kohli top scored with 21, while Starc (18) and Rampaul (13) hit some lusty blows at the end.

Tambe had the best return claiming four for 20 while Richardson claimed two for 18 and was on a hat-trick.

Dinda is the last man out as Tambe traps him leg before as Bangalore are bundled out for 70 in 15 overs.

Starc cracks Bhatia to the third man fence for only the sixth boundary of the innings as Bangalore surpass the previous lowest IPL total of 58.

Tambe gets the prized wicket of Kohli who smashes straight to the midwicket fielder. RCB 46-7 in 10.3 overs.

Starc also follows suit lofting Southee over mid-off for another boundary. RCB 45-6 in 10 overs.

Kohli decides attacks is the best form of defence as he charges down the pitch and clips Southee over mid-on for a boundary.

Kohli hammers Tambe through the covers for a welcome boundary for Bangalore. RCB 33-6 in 9 overs.

Albie Morkel fails to dig in holing out to Smith in the deep in Tambe first over. RCB 28-6 in 8.4 overs.

RR’s solitary victory was when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their season opener, while RCB defeated Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians before going down to KKR in their last outing.
