Match 28: The Chennai Super Kings defeated defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders by two runs and reclaimed their place at the top of the IPL8 standings.

After posting a modest 134 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the hosts restricted the visitors to 132 for 9.

Match 27: Sunrisers Hyderabad recorded their third win of IPL8 defeating hosts Kings XI Punjab by 20 runs at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Monday.

After setting a modest target of 151, SRH restricted the hosts to 130 with Boult taking three for 19.

Match 26: Royal Challengers Bangalore romped to a 10-wicket win after dismissing Delhi Daredevils for a paltry 95, the lowest total in IPL8, at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

Gayle remained unbeaten on 62 off 40 balls while Kohli made 35.

The Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals shared points after their match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata was washed out by torrential showers.

Match 24: Chennai Super Kings stormed to the top of the IPL8 standings after hammering Kings XI Punjab at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai by 97 runs on Saturday.

After setting the visitors a stiff target of 193, KXIP were restricted to 95-9 as CSK recorded their biggest win in the IPL.

Match 23: Lasith Malinga claimed four wickets to help Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

After making a modest 157, the hosts fought back to restrict the visitors to 137-8.

Match 21: Delhi Daredevils ended their jinx at the Ferozeshah Kotla in style by defeating Mumbai Indians side by 37 runs.

Riding on a record 154-run partnership between Shreyas Iyer and JP Duminy, DD posted 190 runs on the board and then dismissed the visitors for 153-9.

Match 20: The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 27 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Put in to bat, CSK posted a competitive 181 and then restricted RCB to 154-8.

The win was CSK’s fourth in five matches and RCB’s third defeat in four outings in IPL8.

Match 19: The Sunrisers Hyderabad handed reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders their second defeat of IPL8 in a rain-affected match.

SRH  made 176 runs in the evening, before KKR were given a revised target of 118 from 12 overs after rain had delayed the start of the run-chase.

But the visitors could only finish at 101 for 4, handing the hosts their second win of the season.

Match 18: Kings XI Punjab beat Rajasthan Royals after the first Super Over tie in IPL8 on Monday.

Chris Morris began the super-over contest by getting David Miller lbw off the first ball with a straight low full-toss.

Shaun Marsh, followed his scintillating knock of 65 off 40 balls, by cracking three boundaries to give RR a target of 16.

KXIP won with three balls left to end the winning streak of Royals.

After restricting the hosts to a modest 146, KKR, powered by Gautam Gambhir’s half-century, knocked off the runs in the 19th over.

Match 16: Mumbai Indians opened their account in IPL8 defeating hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore by 18 runs in a high-scoring thriller at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.

After being put in to bat, MI posted the highest total of the competition of 209 for 7 and then restricted the home side to 191-7.

Match 15: Rajasthan Royals thrashed Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday to maintain their unbeaten run in Pepsi IPL8 and retain their position at the top of the standings.

Chasing a modest 157, RR cruised to victory on the back of a record partnership between skipper Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane to be home with ten deliveries to spare.

Watson made 73 from 47 balls and hit six fours and four sixes. Rahane finished unbeaten on 76 made off 55 balls stroking six fours and two sixes.

Match 14: A power-packed half century by West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell (66) steered Kolkata Knight Riders to a four-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in Pune on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 156, Kolkata coasted home with more than two overs to spare making 159-6 in 17.5 overs.

However, Punjab had sniffed victory when they had Kolkata on the ropes at 60-5 after eight overs.

Russell had other ideas clubbing nine boundaries and two sixes in his 36-ball knock adding 95 runs with Pathan (28 not out) before falling with one needed to win.

Sandeep Sharma bowled an excellent spell to claim four for 25.

Earlier, a superb half century from George Bailey (60) lifted Punjab to 155-9 after being put into bat.

They were struggling at 27-3 before Maxwell (33) added 63 with Bailey.

Yadav claimed three for 33 while Morkel and Russell snared two apiece.

Narine returned excellent figures of 4-0-17-1.

Match 13: Delhi Daredevils pulled off a thrilling four-run win over hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL8 in Visakhapatnam.

DD posted 167 runs on the board and then restricted the home side to 163-8.

Match 12: Chennai Super Kings thrashed Mumbai Indians by six wickets under lights in their own den at the Wankhede Stadium in Match 12 of the IPL8 on Friday.

Chasing a target of 184, Mumbai were blown away by a blitzkreig opening stand of 109 in just 7.2 overs by Dwayne Smith (62) and Brendon McCullum (46) as Chennai replied with 189-4 in 16.4 overs.

Chennai blasted the second highest Batting Powerplay score of 90-0 with Malinga going for 40.

Raina remained unbeaten on 43 to steer CSK home for their third consecutive win.

Smith hammered four sixes and eight boundaries while McCullum slammed two sixes and six boundaries.

Earlier, Mumbai recovered to make 183-7 recovering from 12-3 thanks to half centuries from skipper Rohit Sharma (50) and Kieron Pollard (64).

There were also superb cameos from Harbhajan (24) and Rayudu (29).

Nehra claimed three for 23 while Bravo snared two for 30

Match 11: The Rajasthan Royals romped to a six-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 11 of IPL8 at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

RR restricted SRH for 127-5 – the lowest total of the season, and then knocked off the required runs off the final ball of the chase.

Rahane made 62 from 55 balls before perishing in the penultimate over.

Faulkner scored the winning hit.

Match 10: Delhi Daredevils spurred by superb half centuries from Mayank Agarwal (68) and Yuvraj Singh (55) ended their 11-match winless streak with a five-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in Match 10 of IPL8 at MCA Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

Chasing a target of 166, DD coasted home thanks to a 106-run stand between Agarwal and Yuvraj who both fell with seven needed to win.

Delhi eventually made it with a ball to spare making 169-5.

Delhi restricted Punjab for 165-7 striking at regular intervals in the middle order.

Sehwag (47) and Saha (39) gave them a decent platform to launch an assault with a second wicket stand of 71.

However, after being strongly placed at 104-1 Punjab lost their way.

Tahir took a pounding but bounced back to claim three for 43.

Match 9: A magnificent unbeaten half century by Steven Smith (79) helped Rajasthan Royals defeat Mumbai Indians by seven wickets and five balls to spare at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 165, Rahane (46) figured in a 64-run stand for the second wicket with Smith to finish on 165-3 in 19.1 overs.

The Rajasthan skipper paced his innings beautifully changing gears seamlessly being particularly severe on Malinga who went for 41 in his four overs.

Smith slammed eight boundaries and six in his 53-ball 79 to notch his first IPL half century.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians powered by half centuries from Corey Anderson (50) and Kieron Pollard (70) recovered to make 164-5 after being put into bat.

Anderson and Pollard staged a magnificent rearguard action coming together when MI were struggling at 45-3 after 10 overs.

They added 104 runs with Anderson smashing three sixes and five boundaries in his 38-ball 50 while Pollard blasted five sixes and seven boundaries in his 34-ball 70.

Match 8: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) stunned Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by eight wickets in Match 8 of IPL8 at at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.

RCB put into bat were skittled out for 166 while SRH romped home in the 18th over making 172-2 in 17.2 overs.

Sunrisers came out all guns blazing with skipper David Warner leading the way with a blistering knock of 56 off 27 balls hitting six boundaries and four sixes.

SRH raced to 50 in 4.2 overs with the opening pair Warner and Dhawan posting 82 runs.

Dhawan, who was circumspect, made an unbeaten 50 from 42 while KL Rahul (44) added 78 runs in 51 balls for the third wicket to see them overhaul the modest target with 16 balls to spare.

Yuzvendra Chahal finished with respectable figures of 2 for 28 from his four overs.

Earlier, the RCB openers Chris Gayle (21) and Virat Kohli (41) made a brisk start.

Gayle made 21 from 16 but it was AB de Villiers who top-scored for RCB making 46 from 28 balls.

Leg-spinner Karn Sharma was the most economical bowler, finishing with 1 for 20, while Trent Boult was the most successful picking up three wickets.

Match 7: Kings XI Punjab got their first points defeating Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in Match 7 despite a spectacular half century from Harbhajan Singh at Wankhede Stadium.

Chasing a target of 178, Mumbai seemed down and out for the count at 59-6 after 14 overs before recovering magnificently to make 159-7.

But Harbhajan had other ideas blasting six sixes, including three in succession off Anureet, and five boundaries during his incredible knock of 64 off just 24 balls.

Suchith (34 not out) complimented him during an entertaining 100-run stand but it was too much to ask from the tail with Harbhajan falling in the penultimate ball of the match.

Match 6: Rajasthan Royals pulled off a three-wicket win in a last-ball thriller against Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla on Sunday.

Rajasthan Royals climbed to second in the standings and stretched DD’s losing streak to 11 matches.

Chasing a target of 185, they were reduced to 78 for 4 in the 11th over.

Rahane and Hooda added 52 runs in 4.3 overs to put their team back in the hunt.

Southee struck Mathews for a boundary to take their team past the finish line.

Match 5: Royal Challenge Bangalore pulled off a thrilling three-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening match of IPL8 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 178, Gayle's spectacular knock saw them home with an over to spare as RCB made 179-7 in 19 overs.

Gayle clobbered seven sixes and seven boundaries during his 56-ball 96 before being run out with victory in sight.

AB de Villiers chipped with a 13-ball cameo of 28.

Yusuf Pathan claimed two for 40.

Kolkata powered by a 17-ball unbeaten 41 from Russell made a challenging 177-6 after being put into bat.

Match 4: Riding on a belligerent century by Brendon McCullum (100 not out), the Chennai Super Kings registered their second win of IPL8 when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

After posting 209 batting first, the hosts restricted their opponents to 164-6.

McCullum lit up the Chepauk with his second IPL hundred after CSK captain MS Dhoni (53) smashed the fastest IPL fifty this season off just 28 balls.

McCullum needed to score 11 off the final three deliveries to get to his sixth T20 century and he did in style.

Match 3: Rajasthan beat Punjab by 26 runs in Match 3 of IPL8 in Pune on Friday.

Chasing a target of 163, Punjab never really recovered from the shock of losing Sehwag to the first ball to finish on 136-8.

Murali Vijay held the top order together with a fluent 37 off 32 balls but were set back by a couple of run outs.

Southee claimed 2-36 and Faulkner snared 3-26.

Earlier, Rajasthan recovered to make a competitive 162-7 thanks to some lusty hitting from Hooda (30) and Faulkner (46).

Having been put into bat, they slumped to 35-3 in six overs before stand-in captain Smith steadied the innings with a knock of 33.

Hooda smashed three sixes and a boundary in his 15-ball 33 during a 51-run stand for the sixth wicket with Faulkner who blasted three sixes to provide the final flourish.

Anureet claimed 3-23 and Johnson 2-34 whiel Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers returning figures of 4-1-19-1.

Match 2: Two-time champions Chennai Super Kings held their nerve to pull off a one-run win over the Delhi Daredevils at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.

Put in to bat, MS Dhoni’s side were restricted to 150 for 7.

Smith made 34 from 31 balls, Faf du Plessis 32 from 24 while the CSK skipper made 30 from 27 to boost their final tally.

Albie Morkel held the innings together and brought Delhi to the brink of victory but they fell short by two runs finishing on 149-9 and suffering their tenth defeat in a row dating back to May 3, 2014.

Nehra struck early blows to reduce DD to 39 for 3 before DD recovered through a 48-run partnership between Morkel and Kedar Jadhav.

But the quick dismissals of Yuvraj Singh and JP Duminy swung the pendulum back in favour of CSK.

Needing a six off the ball, Morkel managed a one-bounce boundary off Bravo to remain unbeaten on 73 off 55 balls.

Chasing competitive 169, KKR made it with nine balls after skipper Gautam Gambhir (57) and Manish Pandey (40) laid the foundation with a partnership of 85 before Suryakumar Yadav sealed victory with a belligerent unbeaten 46 blasting five sixes.

Earlier, Mumbai put into bat recovered from a precarious 37-3 to post 168-3 thanks an unbroken 131-run stand between skipper Rohit Sharma (98) and Corey Anderson (55).
