IPL6: Chennai crush Pune by 37 runs

Chennai Super Kings cemented their place at the top thrashing  bottom team Pune Warriors India by 37 runs in Match 42 of IPL6 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on Tuesday night.

Chasing a target of 165, finished on 127 for nine with Steven Smith top scoring with 35.

Mohit Sharma was the destroyer in chief claiming three for 21.

Sharma is out in the last over for a duck. PWI 124-9.

Dhoni flayed a 16-ball 45 with three sixes and four boundaries during an explosive unfinished fourth wicket stand of 61 off just 27 balls with Raina to swell their total.

Raina faced 50 balls and hit five boundaries and a six during his well compiled knock which steadied Chennai after the early wobble.

Kumar had the best figures of 4-1-24-0 while Sharma, Richardson and Wright claimed a wicket apiece.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS INNINGS

Dhoni swept Dinda for a boundary and blasted a six off the last ball as Chennai finish with a flourish to make 164-3 in 20 overs.

Kumar is hit for 12 in the 19th over with Raina and Dhoni getting a boundary apiece. CSK 150-3 in 19 overs.

Dinda goes for 17 in the 18th over with cracking a boundary while Dhoni smashes a boundary and a six. CSK 138-3 in 18 overs.

Raina completes his half century off 42 balls with three boundaries and a six. CSK 121-3 in 17 overs.

Dhoni has launched his assault opening his account with a boundary by glancing to fine leg followed by a thundering six straight down the ground. CSK 114-3 in 16 overs.

Badrinath departs a fine partnership of 75 for the third with Raina holing out to Smith at long off. CSK 103-3.
