IPL6: Chennai go top with easy win over Delhi

Chennai Super Kings eased to a 33-run victory over Delhi Daredevils at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday night to reclaim top spot in the standings.

Chasing a target of 169, Delhi began on the wrong foot losing Sehwag in the second ball.

They lost wickets at regular intervals thereafter and despite a defiant knock of 44 from skipper Warner they never looked like overhauling Chennai's total.

Albie Morkel had the best return of three for 32 while Mohit Sharma caused the initial damage claiming two for 22.

Ashwin picked up two for 19 while Bravo also had similar figures to regain the Orange Cup.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings powered by blistering unbeaten half century from MS Dhoni (58) made a challenging total of 168-4.

Dhoni's 35-ball knock was studded with two boundaries and four sixes, one of which went soaring into the roof of the stadium.

They were given a sound start by openers Hussey (26) and Vijay (31) who posted 61 runs before losing three wickets in quick succession.

Jadeja smashed a 17-ball 24 during a breezy 57-run fourth wicket stand with Dhoni who really turned it on the final five overs which yielded 59 runs.

Yadav was the most impressive claiming two for 26 while Kaul and Nehra went for 37 apiece.

DELHI DAREDEVILS INNINGS

Delhi finished on 135-9 as Chennai completed a clinical 33-run victory.

Kaul plays down the hat-trick ball from Bravo who is now the leading wicket taker.

Bravo is on a hat-trick claiming Pathan and Nehra off successive balls. DD 125-9.
