IPL6: Bravo! Chennai beat Rajasthan by 5 wickets

Chennai Super Kings pulled off a five-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in a cliff-hanger Match 30 of IPL6 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk on Monday night.

Chasing a target of 186, Bravo steered Chennai home with one ball to spare after man of match Michael Hussey laid the foundation for victory.

Needing 11 of the last over bowled by Watson, Bravo smashed the third ball for a six over extra cover before scrambling for two consecutive doubles.

After losing Vijay in the third over, Chennai were lifted by an enterprising 90-run stand for the second wicket between Hussey (88) and Raina (51).

They were cruising at 154 for two at the end of the 16th over with Hussey, whose 51-ball 88 contained 13 fours and a six, in full flow.

But a double strike by Rajasthan saw them bounce back into contention and set up a thrilling finale.

Hussey was run out by a brilliant direct hit while Jadeja was bowled for duck by Faulkner within the space of three balls as Chennai slumped to 154-4.

Chennai needed 17 off the last two overs but got another scare when Dhoni who was suffering from stomach cramps fell to a brilliant catch from Binny.

But Bravo held his nerve and made certain Chennai were not to be denied.

Earlier, Rajasthan made what appeared to be a challenging total of 185 for four with Watson hammering the first century of the tournament.

Opting to bat first, they got a flying start with openers Rahane (16) and Watson making 71 in 7.2 overs.

Watson smashed six sixes and six boundaries during his 61-ball 101 pulverising the Chennai attack.

Binny remained unbeaten on a 22-ball 36 which contained three boundaries and a six as Rajasthan finished with a flourish.

Ashwin claimed two for 20 and Bravo two for 36.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS INNINGS

Bravo gets another couple in the penultimate ball of the match as Chennai win by five wickets.

Bravo returns for a couple in the fourth ball which is a full pitched delivery.

Watson bowls a dot ball to Bravo who smashes a boundary off the third ball.

Morris gets a single off the first ball.

A boundary could make the difference in the final over as Chennai need 11 from six balls with Watson bowling the final over.

Dhoni who was struggling from a stomach cramp goes for the big one but is brilliant held on the boundary by Binny. Chennai 175-5 in 19 overs.

Chennai hold the edge with Dhoni and Bravo in the middle with Faulkner bowling the penultimate over.

Rajasthan have bounced back into the match with a double strike reducing Chennai to 157-4 in 17 overs.

Rajasthan have struck a double blow with Jadeja being bowled by Faulkner. Chennai 154-4 in 16.3 overs.
