IPL6: Delhi choke Pune by 15 runs

Delhi Daredevils notched only their second win in IPL6 defeating Pune Warriors India by 15 runs at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 165, Pune got a solid start with openers Uthappa (37) and Finch (37) posting 76 in 10.2 before they departed in quick succession.

Yuvraj (31) and Wright (19) figured in a 50-run stand for the third wicket but their innings failed to gather momentum despite appearing to be in cruise control.

To add to their woes Yadav struck twice in the 18th over.

Needing 29 off the last two overs, they were choked by Nehra and Nadeem despite some lusty blows from Smith.

Pathan claimed two for 29 and Yadav two for 24.

Earlier, Delhi Daredevils spurred by an unbeaten 51 off just 25 balls from David Warner made a formidable 164-5.

Having been put into bat by Pune Warriors India, Delhi got a steady start despite the loss of skipper Jayawardene earlu.

Sehwag cracked two sixes and two boundaries in his 26-ball 28.

His dismissal triggered a collapse as they slumped to 96-4 losing three wickets for 28 runs in four overs.

Warner spearheaded their recovery with a belligerent half century which contained four sixes and four boundaries.

Jadhav (25) gave him good support during a breezy 63-run stand for the fifth wicket.

Dinda had the best return of 3 for 31 while Sharma and Nayar picked up a wicket apiece.

Smith hammers a boundary and a six off the last over from Nadeem but Pune fall short finishing on 149-4.

Nehra bowls a good over giving away just seven runs in the 19th.

Yadav strikes twice in the 18th over removing Yuvraj and Wright.
