Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers displayed their prowess to crush Rajasthan Royals by 23 runs in a low-scoring match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.

Hyderabad jumped to fourth place with 18 points putting Royal Challengers Bangalore under pressure.

Chasing a modest total of 137 to win, Rajasthan got off to brilliant start with skipper Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane providing a steady start with 39 runs for the opening wicket.

But a wrong call that ended in Dravid (25, 24balls, 2x4, 1x6) being run out opened the doors for Hyderabad.

Their bowlers maintained a tidy line as wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.

From 39 for 1, Rajasthan crashed to 85 for 8 before a late cameo from Kevon Cooper (26) ensured Rajasthan Royal managed 113 for nine in 20 overs.

For Hyderabad, Darren Steyn, Karan Sharma, Amit Mishra and Thisara Perera picked two wickets each.

Earlier, James Faulkner claimed another five-wicket haul as Hyderabad were restricted to 136 for nine in 20 overs.

Opting to bat first, Hyderabad were shattered early on after Faulkner bowled a superb over claiming two quick wickets.

Watson claimed another as Hyderabad collapsed to five for three.

Thanks to a cautious 55 from 46 balls from Biplab Samantray and Darren Sammy’s 23, Hyderabad managed to recover.

A late surge from Thisara Perera who slammed a 13-ball 17 meant Hyderabad had a respectable total to defend.

Faulkner claimed five wickets from four overs giving away only 16 runs.

Nearly half way through Hyderabad's innings. They need to get going if they are to post a challening total. Hyderabad are 40 for 3 in 9 overs.

Good over from Tambe, only four runs from it. Hyderabad are going slow and steady as they reach 34 for 3 in 8 overs.
