IPL6: Hyderabad stun Pune by 11 runs

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off a stunning 11-run win against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in the Match 22 of IPL6 at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

It was an amazing comeback win by Hyderabad defending a small total of 119-8 after having been put into bat.

Mishra capped a fine all-round performance having lifted Hyderabad with a fighting knock of 30 by grabbing a hat-trick in the penultimate over to bundle out Pune for 108 to finish with excellent figures of 4-0-19-4.

Pune were cruising at 101 for four in the 17th over chasing a target of 120 when their innings crumbled.

Steyn triggered the collapse taking the wicket of Marsh with his final delivery although going for 34 in his four overs.

Pune committed hara kiri as they were in a hurry to reach the target losing six wicket for seven runs within the space of 13 balls.

Nayar and Mathews virtually threw it away with some irresponsible strokeplay before Mishra's sensational hat-trick which sealed a great comeback win for Hyderabad.

Samantray hit a run-a-ball 37 with three boundaries and a six to hold their crumbling middle order together.

Amit Mishra hit a defiant 30 off 24 balls with three boundaries and while Reddy hit an unbeaten 19 with one six.

Rahul Sharma claimed two for 21 while Dinda and Marsh snared a wicket apiece.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD INNNINGS

Steyn hit a boundary off the last ball from Dinda as Hyderabad finish with a flourish scoring 44 in the last five overs.

In another surprise, Hyderabad skipper Sangakkara has been benched and Cameron White will lead the side while Quinton de Kock will make his IPL debut.

A  resurgent Pune Warriors India (PWI) will take on SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 22 of IPL6 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

Pune led by Ross Taylor will be buoyed by their win over two-time champions Chennai Super Kings spurred by a fine all-round effort from Steven Smith.

The SunRisers have blown hot and cold so far this season, winning three of their five matches so far suffering heavy defeats against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Pune skipper Angelo Mathews is expected to return after sitting out the match in Chennai.
