IPL6: Sammy keeps alive Hyderabad's hopes

Sunrisers Hyderabad kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the play-offs after defeating Kings XI Punjab by 30 runs in Match 59 at Punjab Cricket Association stadium in Mohali.
Sunrisers are equal on points with fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore who are ahead on a better net run rate.
Chasing a target of 151, Punjab were rocked by the dismissal of Mandeep Singh for a duck in the first over.
Gilchrist (26) and Marsh (18) put them back on track with a 45-run stand for the second wicket.
But Darren Sammy turned the match on its head by removing both of them in successive balls and dismissed Miller as Punjab collapsed to 51-4.
Sathish's run out after a stand of 51 with Pomersbach sounded the death knell for Punjab.
Pomersbach remained unbeaten on 33 off 40 balls but wickets tumbled at the other end.
Sammy had excellent figures of four for 22 while Steyn claimed two for 20.
Earlier, a well crafted half century from Parthiv Patel (61) and a cameo from Thisara Perera (32 not out) helped Sunrisers Hyderabad make 150-7 after being put into bat.
After losing Dhawan (15) and Vihari in quick succession, Hyderabad were reeling at 52-5 with Sandeep Sharma striking in successive deliveries to dismiss White and Samantray followed by Sammy's departure for a duck.
Karan Sharma (22) revived the innings with a stand of 42 for the sixth wicket with Patel.
Perera smashed two sixes and two boundaries in his 19-ball 32 during a breezy 48-run stand for the seventh wicket with Patel to lift Hyderabad.
Patel cracked five boundaries and two sixes during his knock of 61 to hold the innings together before falling in the 19th over.
Sharma finished with excellent figure of 4-0-21-3.

Kings XI Punjab collapsed in a heap to finish on 120-9 with Sammy claiming four wickets.
