Iqbal puts Interface Transworld to the sword

Mohammed Asif Iqbal smashed a blistering unbeaten century as Seven Seas Strikers cruised to a comfortable 64-run victory over Interface Transworld CC in the 23rd Sharjah Ramadan Tournament for the Interface Transworld Cup at the Sharjah stadium on Saturday night.

The tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, is supported by 106.2 HUM FM and CBFS as associate sponsors.
Playing with authority, Asif toyed with the innocuous Interface attack, cracking 135 not out off just 85 balls which included 11 fours and eight sixes. Thanks to his sterling efforts, Seven Seas Strikers, batting first, posted a massive 223 for three in the allotted 25 overs.
Shafaqat Ali (43 off 26 balls) and Mohammed Boota (24 off 28) made things difficult for Interface bowlers with some fine batting.
Interface Transworld, in reply, were bowled out for 159 in the 25th over. Jagrit Anand (38 off 42) and Tushar Pant (36 off 16 with two fours and three sixes) batted well, but they could never reach the target.
Mohammed Kashif bowled well for Seven Seas Strikers, taking four wickets for 36 runs while Shafaqat Ali claimed three for 24 to seal a comprehensive victory.
