IPL winners Mumbai Indians won the Champions League T20 2013 defeating Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs in a high-scoring final at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

Mumbai Indians completed the double of winning the IPL and Champions League in the same year, emulating the feat of Chennai Super Kings who achieved it in 2010.

It was a fitting farewell for India's batting legend Sachin Tendulkar of Mumbai Indians while the curtain also came down on the great career of Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid.

"It was a nerve-biting game. I would like to thank Sachin and Dravid for what they've done for Indian cricket. Winning this was like the icing on the cake," said the ice-cool Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.

Ajinkya Rahane won the Golden Bat for his 288 runs.

The Golden Wicket went to the 41-year-old Pravin Tambe for his 12 wickets.

Chasing a formidable target of 203, a 109-run stand for the second wicket between Rahane (65) and Samson (60) appeared to put Rajasthan on course before being all out for 169 in 18.5 overs.

Dravid praised Samson and Rahane for their valiant run-chase.

"Mumbai were the better side. Terrific effort from the team, and Tambe as well. It was a close game till the end, otherwise a great final. I've loved working with Rajasthan."

But Harbhajan picked up the key wicket of Watson before claiming three wickets in his next to trigger a dramatic collapse which saw Rajasthan crash from 137 for two losing their last eight wickets for just 32 runs.

"Great feeling winning two cups in one year. That over I took three wickets was probably the best I've bowled the last three months," said man of the match Harbhajan.

Harbhajan took charge after Ojha had bowled an excellent spell to finish with four for 32.

Pollard mopped up the tail claiming three wickets in the 19th over to claim three for 31.

Samson led Rajasthan's run-chase with a 33-ball 60 which was studded with four sixes and four boundaries.

Rahana, the tournament's leading run-getter continued his form with a 47-ball 65 stroking five boundaries and two sixes.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians spurred by blazing knocks from skipper Rohit Sharma (33) and Glenn Maxwell (37) made a formidable 202 for six in 20 overs after being put into bat by Rajasthan Royals.

After managing just 60 for the loss of Tendulkar in the first 10 overs, Mumbai plundered 121 runs off the last eight overs flaying the Rajasthan bowlers all over the park.

Smith laid the foundation with solid 44 off 39 balls with five boundaries and a six.

"It was good to see we could move to 200 if you saw where we were at after ten overs," said Dwayne Smith who was adjudged man of the series.

Pravin Tambe pegged Mumbai with excellent figures of 4-0-19-2 to lead the Golden Wicket tally.

But Sharma upped the ante cracking three boundaries and two sixes during his 14-ball 33.

Maxwell came in and then played a gem of an innings smashing four boundaries and two sixes in his 14-ball 37 while Karthik and Harbhajan also chipped in at the end.

PLAYING XI

Mumbai Indians: Dwayne Smith, Sachin Tendulkar, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Ambati Rayudu, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Harbhajan Singh, Rishi Dhawan, Pragyan Ojha

Rajasthan Royals: Rahul Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane, Kusal Perera, Sanju Samson, Shane Watson, Stuart Binny, Dishant Yagnik, James Faulkner, Kevon Cooper, Praveen Tambe, Rahul Shukla

The Champions League Twenty20 final will see two legends of the game - Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid - battling it out possibly for the last when Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi on Sunday.

Mumbai Indians' opener Tendulkar and Rajasthan Royal skipper Dravid had, both, announced after IPL 6 that this would be their final Twenty20 season.

All eyes will be on the two Indian greats bringing the curtain down an enthralling competition.

The winners will carry home a cheque for $2,500,000 and the runners-up will get richer by $1,300,000.

Rajasthan and Mumbai have so far met on 14 occasions with MI having an edge over their opponents with a 7-6 record.

In four meetings this year, the teams share two wins apiece.

While both teams registered wins in their respective home matches in IPL 2013, the Mumbai Indians got the better of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2013 Playoff game.

However, in the inaugural match of the CLT20 2013 Rajasthan Royals registered a convincing seven-wicket victory.

Rajasthan have cruised to the final after registering convincing wins in each of their Group matches, defeating Chennai Super Kings in the semi-final to sail through to the final.

Mumbai were on the brink of elimination before their remarkable performance in their final Group fixture, against the Perth Scorchers, before breezing past Trinidad & Tobago to progress to the final.

Mumbai begin as favourites having emerged triumphant in their only previous appearance in the Final of the CLT20 when they defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2011 edition of the tournament played at Chennai.

Rohit Sharma has led from the front while Tendulkar has made a timely return to form with a fluent 35 in the semfinal after managing just 20 runs in his first three innings in the competition.

Dwayne Smith and Dinesh Karthik can tear any attack apart while on the bowling front spin twins Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha have been complemented by the deceptive Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Despite enjoying an unbeaten run and ruling the roost on home turf in Jaipur, Rajasthan could find the slow surface at Delhi not to their liking and miss the services of Brad Hodge.

Skipper Rahul Dravid has not been among the runs but Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson and Shane Watson have delivered.

On the bowling front, 41 year-old Pravin Tambe has been a revelation for Rajasthan and could hold the key to their success after his match-winning performance against Chennai.
