Nawaz sparkles for Seven Seas Strikers

Qadir Nawaz dazzled for Seven Seas Strikers by grabbing five wickets against Farooq CC to lead his side to an easy win at the ICC Global Academy Cricket grounds in the Debonairs Pizza Floodlit Tournament conducted by the Dubai Cricket Council.

Farooq CC who were chasing a modest total of 167 runs set by Seven Seas Strikers were given a decent start by opener Fahad Tariq (17) and one-drop Qais Farooq who top-scored for them with a superb knock of 27.

After both fell to Kashif and Shafaqat,  right arm medium pace bowler Qadir Nawaz struck a good line and length to completely fox the rest of the batting picking up five wickets to trigger a collapse from which Farooq CC never recovered. 

He mixed up his deliveries cleverly to first pick up seasoned campaigner Akbar Rana and then followed up with the wickets of Mehraj Khaliq, Farrukh Abbas, Fardan Khalid and Salman Farooq with a superb display of pace bowling to finish with five for 14.

Earlier when Seven Seas Strikers batted, they lost an early wicket of Hasnain Raza as he was picked up by Moiz Shahid.

Babur Ali and Salman Randhawa then stitched together a 43-run partnership for the second wicket at which stage Akbar Rana grabbed two quick wickets to cause a bit of a wobble.

Tariq Mohammed (17) and Kashif Rana (21) then played positively to keep the scoreboard ticking and then Kaleem Butt played a fine cameo cracking 34 runs off 12 balls with three fours and two sixes to take them to 167.
