NMC pip ECB Blues in Danube Cup opener

NMC had a hard fought win over ECB Blues, while Ibson CC scored an easy victory over Farooq Cricket Club on the inaugural day of the Danube Ramadan T20 Cup played at the state-of-art Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

ECB Blues batting first, scored a modest 125 runs in 20 overs with Haji Irfan 21and Saqlain 28. Experienced Shadeep Silva bowled brilliantly taking two for 12.

NMC reached the target in 19.3 overs with man of the match Niresh Fernando top scoring with 46.

In the second match of the night, Farooq CC made a decent total 135 for nine.

UAE national Qais Farooq made 46 with five boundaries.

Faiz Ahmed claimed three for 17.

Ibson CC raced to the target in just 12.4 overs as Faizan Asif and Mohammed Boota featured in a 106-run opening stand.

Asif (54) slammed seven fours and three sixes while Boota (51 not out) cracked five fours and three sixes.
