Fahad Tariq stroked a solid century to power Interface Transworld CC to a convincing 81-run victory over Zultec CC in the 38th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium on Wednesday night.

The talented batsman cracked 106 off 127 balls with five fours and one six to compile the first century of the current tournament and helped his side post a healthy 359 for five in the allotted 50 overs.

Adnan Arif (64 off 49 balls with 10 fours), Jagrit Anand (44 not out off 27 balls with two fours and two sixes), Ramveer Rai (34 off just 17 balls with three fours and two sixes) and Mohammed Ibtisham (22 off 14 balls with three fours and two sixes) further consolidated the innings with some fluent batting.

Umair Khan, Arnali de Silva and Haseeb Tariq took one wicket each, but they all failed to apply any brakes on the rampaging Interface batsmen.

Zultec CC, in reply, were restricted to 278 for eight despite a brilliant unbeaten knock of 57 by Aslam Ghause who smashed seven fours and one six during his 64-ball stay at the crease.

Nelson Pinto and Anil Adnani snared three wickets to each to add to the woes of the Zultec batsmen.

Dilan Gedge (36), Kamran Khan (31 not out), Haseeb Tariq (28) and Umair Khan (21) were also among the runs, but their contributions were not good enough to match pace with the ever increasing asking rate.
