Following the weekend’s racing at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, the F1 championship battle between the two Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg remains unresolved.

With an unprecedented double points available for the Abu Dhabi race, the two will go head to head in a historic showdown at the final race of the season at Yas Marina Circuit on November 23.

Yas Marina Circuit announced that record numbers for this year’s Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix were guaranteed with less than 10 per cent of tickets left to sell.

Of this year’s largest ever allocation of 60,000 tickets – an increase of 5,000 on last year’s weekend – there are less than 10 per cent remaining. The circuit reports that tickets for the Paddock Club, Abu Dhabi Hill, Main and West Grandstands have already sold out.

“This year, the appetite for F1 tickets has been unprecedented,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.

In addition to the motorsports action, DJ Armin Van Buuren, R&B artist Pharrell Williams and live performers The Who are confirmed to play the after-race concerts.

Egyptian movie star Tamer Hosny, singer and Lebanese actress Carole Samaha, Emirati singer Faiz Al Saeed, and Palestinian Mohammed Assaf of ‘Arab Idol’ fame have also been confirmed to entertain race-goers at the Du Arena on November 20.
