AC Milan star Ronaldinho could be headed towards UAE during the next transfer window in January, according to El Mundo Deportivo journalist Cristina Cubero.

The Spanish journalist is close to Barcelona, and is a good friend of Ronaldinho.

During an interview with the programme Punto y Pelota, Cubero revealed clubs in the UAE which are keen on the Brazilian, whose future has been put in doubt following the arrival of Robinho.

“Milan took Robinho in what was an excellent move, but I won’t rule out a Ronaldinho exit because of this,” Cubero said.
“Ronaldinho is attracted by the UAE.”

The nascent UAE Pro-League received a massive boost when Dubai’s Al Ahli club signed former Italy World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro to lead the side and former Aston Villa and Leeds United manager David O’Leary as coach on long-term contracts this season.

Ronaldinho was linked with an exit during the summer transfer window, but Milan resisted all attempts, even hinting at a new deal.
That was followed by Silvio Berlusconi claiming the Brazilian was “at Milan for life”.
The two-time World Player of the Year had been seeking a move to the Premier League although Rio de Janeiro side Flamengo were keen to strike a deal. But the 30-year-old who was discarded by Brazil for the World Cup in South Africa, was keen for one more challenge in Europe before returning home.
