Arsenal are about to have their Nani moment.

A player of untold talent and proven match-winning ability is about to discover he still, after costing his team any title hope last season, has a shot at redemption.

Sir Alex Ferguson has had no choice but to persist with Nani. Injuries to Ashley Young and now even possibly Valencia have left him no choice.

It is Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s turn now.

Andrey Arshavin is set to return to Arsenal team action in tonight’s Capital One Cup tie against Coventry at the Emirates Stadium.

Now, neither seem to have any choice.

Manchester United have often looked over their shoulder in the past two seasons and looked at Arsenal and Andrei Arshavin and feared the worst.

After his four-goal wonder game, Arsenal would have been sure they had a winner.

Arshavin has since boiled, frothed and then collapsed.

Arsene Wenger will know all about the frustration of dealing with an Arshavin type of talent.

Premier League sides would have breathed a sigh of relief because on his day, Arshavin is devastating.

United and Sir Alex Ferguson have discovered an Arshavin of their own at Old Trafford – Luis Nani.

Over the last two seasons, Nani has boiled, frothed and now only really infuriates Sir Alex, United and the Old Trafford faithful.

Like Arshavin towards the end of last season, Nani seems to be on a different tangent to his team-mates.

The 31-year-old Russian is back at the Emirates after returning from a loan spell at his former club Zenit St Petersburg.

Wenger told Arsenal Player, “I have personally a great respect for Andrey Arshavin because sometimes some wrong ideas circulated about him - that he doesn't care, but it's completely the opposite.”

“He is a 200 per cent professional who works every day very hard in training.

“I am happy to give him some competition on Wednesday night.”

Another genius Wenger move or a wild card move that can backfire?
