Arsenal to lose Walcott, Wilshere after Van Persie

It’s tough times ahead for Arsenal fans.

Not only is it now more or less sure that Arsene Wenger is going to be unable to keep Robin Van Persie at the club, the Gunners are going to have to deal with an increasing amount of insults from Manchester City.

After losing Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri to Manchester City last year, what would have rankled more was the moving of Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira to City as their man incharge of football development.

After winning the title Nasri then taunted Arsenal saying they were only good enough for third.

Now Vieira has come out and piled the pressure on Arsene Wenger by saying the London club will lose Van Persie.

What’s worse, Vieira also warned Wenger that Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere will be next to leave Arsenal if they fail to keep the Dutchman.
Vieira said: “It is one of the things they should have closed a long time ago.

“It’s really difficult to find players of the quality of Van Persie with one year left all around the world.

“It is a big risk because they lost Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas last year.

“But if Robin leaves that means next year it may be Theo Walcott, next year’s going to be Wilshere.”

Arsenal fans, beware!

Arsenal set to lose Van Persie to City

Arsenal seem destined to be engaged in another transfer saga this summer involving skipper Robin van Persie.

The talismanic Arsenal captain is set for a showdown on his future with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger on Wednesday, it has been reported in the British press.

Newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City are ready to lure him with an offer of £25 million, according to the Mirror.

The Dutch striker, 28, is entering the final year of his contract at Emirates and had refused to discuss his future until the season ends.

City are preparing an opening offer of £20 million for the Premier League's leading goal scorer, according to The Sun.

His agent Kees Vos has been spotted at the Etihad Stadium, it added.

However, he was coy about where Van Persie would play next season with Manchester United and Juventus also wanting to sign him.

“I have been to a lot of Premier League games this season - including City ones. I watch a lot of players — my life does not revolve around Robin van Persie,” he said.

City are believed to be in pole position to land Van Persie and £25m Lille midfielder Eden Hazard.

City hero Sergio Aguero said: “It can only be good when you strengthen during the summer period.”

Arsenal will do their utmost to resist attempts to prise Van Persie from Emirates.

Wenger has insisted he will not sell Van Persie to City for any price.

Arsenal are expected to try to persuade Van Persie to agree a new four-year deal worth £130,000 a week, according to the Mirror.

They will also offer a £5m signing-on fee in a desperate bid to prevent another one of their key players joining the exodus to the Etihad — following Emannuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy and Sami Nasri.

Big-spending city are likely to go all out to get Van Persie who is high on the wish list of their Italian manager Roberto Mancini.

Arsenal's board are ready to hold Van Persie to his contract or sell and cut their losses.

Van Persie did not commit himself long-term to the club though saying he loves Arsenal "whatever happens" after their win at West Brom on Sunday.

It promises to be another painful saga for Arsenal fans after losing Fabregas and Nasri last summer.
