Cole attack on AVB angers Chelsea owner

Chelsea are in turmoil thanks to the rift between their young manager Andre Villas-Boas and veteran England duo Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.

It has boiled over despite claims to the contrary by Villas-Boas with owner Roman Abramovich also getting involved in the dispute between the players and coach.

The Russian tycoon is unhappy with senior stars criticising AVB and is determined to stamp out a dressing-room revolt by selling the rebels, accordind to The Sun.
 has observed at close range by attending training sessions following Chelsea's recent slump.

But instead of trying to get to the bottom of the crisis and solving it, he has opted to take the side of the manager in this situation.

The reason being Villas-Boas was Abramovich's personal choice and When the players question the manager, they are questioning the owner's judgment.
 
"In the past, the senior players have sometimes got their way over an unpopular manager. But this time Abramovich is fed up with their moaning," according to unnamed sources in the report.

Cole, Lampard and Michael Essien were relegated to the bench against Napoli after criticising Villas-Boas after a clear-the-air meeting on Sunday.
 
Cole told the former Porto boss he would never win trophies with "your tactics" which Villas-Boas taken personally.

With Villas-Boas determined to get rid of irritants in his under performing side, Cole, 31, and Lampard, 33, the Blues are likely to listen offers for the duo in the summer although they are contracted till 2013.
