Dubai all set to host Globe Soccer Awards 2012

Gala event is part of the Dubai International Sports Conference

The third Audi Football Night is set to welcome many of the game’s biggest names, including Real Madrid coach Josè Mourinho, Atletico Madrid’s ace goalscorer Radamel Falcao, and Barcelona star Eric Abidal in Dubai.

The gala event is part of the Dubai International Sports Conference and includes the internationally recognised 'Globe Soccer Awards', honouring outstanding performances in the world of football.

Presented by Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official dealer of Audi in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the glittering awards event takes place at the Armani Hotel on Friday December 28 as part of the prestigious annual meeting dedicated to leading transfer market operators.

“Audi has a long involvement with football at the highest level, and we are delighted to be offering our support to this awards evening.  It has become an event not to be missed in the game’s international calendar,” said Ali Al Nabooda, General Manager Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles.

“It’s a perfect match” adds Al Nabooda. “We know that football is one of the most popular sports in the UAE and Audi represents everything the beautiful game stands for – precision, excellence and outstanding performance.”

An illustrious awards panel comprising 13 top representatives in the world of sport, including former England manager Fabio Capello, Portugal’s star Luis Figo, Dr. Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council and Mohamed Al Kamali, Secretary General UAE National Olympic Committee decide the winners in each of the 10 categories.

During the Audi Football Night, the 'Globe Soccer Player of the Year' award, collected in Dubai last year by Real Madrid star Ronaldo, will be presented.

In another highlight of the Audi Football Night, the Globe Soccer Club of the Year will be honoured.

Chelsea, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Bate Borisov, the only Belarusian team to have qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, have been short listed by the European Club Association.

Other awards will go to the Best Coach, Best Player, Best Agent Career, Best Director, the Player of the Century, the Best Agent, the Greatest Media Attraction in Football and for the very first time an award to the UAE Goalscorer of the Year.

Organised by BC Bendoni Communication in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, Globe Soccer has become one of football’s most exclusive events, creating a platform for discussions among key players and managers on the game’s key issues.

The event is dedicated to the football market operators who, together with the clubs, leagues, federations and football institutions, are able to extend their network of contacts and bring themselves up to date with the most important current issues.

Other VIP guests include Barcelona President Alexandre Rosell, Miguel Anghel Gill Marin, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Atletico Madrid, and Diego Maradona, the ambassador of the Dubai Sports Council.
