Arsenal are reportedly considering a January bid for France international Yoann Gourcuff which could spell the end of Abou Diaby's career at the Emirates.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking the Lyon midfielder for the last two years.

Wenger had previously said signing Gourcuff "is always tempting for a coach" and now it seems his club Lyon who are having financial difficulties are ready to let him go, according to a report in The Metro (https://bit.ly/UsPOtO).

"We’re planning to sell two or three players for a total of €30million," their president Jean-Michel Aulas said last month.

He admitted Gourcuff could be one of those sold.

"If he (Gourcuff) returns to the highest level and he wants to go, then there could be a transfer," he added.

Wenger is frustrated with Diaby's latest injury sustained during international duty against Finland.

The 26-year-old has endured a torrid time with injuries ever since breaking his ankle at Sunderland six years ago and made just five appearances last season.
