Zenit St Petersburg have joined Spurs in pursuit of Manchester United winger Nani.

United are preparing to offload Nani who was left out of their win at Fulham.

The Russian club a considering a £25 million bid for Nani, who has yet to agree a new contract at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Portugal player’s representatives reportedly met Zenit counterparts in Amsterdam on Monday to outline a deal.

"The news about Nani is true," Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti said earlier this month.

"Everything will depend on how much players cost because we won’t pay excessive amounts of money."

United boss Alex Ferguson has splashed out £45m on five players, including Robin van Persie, and club owners the Glazers are keen to trim the squad.

Nani, 25, has become frustrated at the collapse of talks over a new four-year deal.

He has two years left on his £90,000-a-week deal but wants in excess of £130,000.

    First sell Ashley Young before you even sell Nani, there are other weak players that have to go actually, Man U needs Nani than he needs it.

    Nani is a human for God sake. Is there any man that is always consistent in life? You must surely get your ups and downs. Sir Alex should keep Nani if he wants to carry league. Now there is more competition, he will pick up. So Sir Alex should love him more with patience because he is the best of United for now. Don't even think of selling him, instead sell Young or Val

    Nani is the biggest thing since Ronaldo left the club please don't sell Nani and consider buying another experienced centre midfield player and give Raphael a chance a right back and when Phil Jones is fit to play start him with Nemanja Vidic.

    i dont even fergie is stupid enought to sell nani.........its hard to believe a plpayer like nani will just go for 25 million where a players like andy carroll and downing go for a combined total of 55 million pounds...makes me laugh
