Liverpool's £35 million flop Andy Carroll is now certain to leave Anfield this summer.

The pony-tailed striker failed to make an impression after coming on during the last 25 minutes of Liverpool’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Last Sunday, he was seen spitting a torrent of abuse and stormed straight down the tunnel after being replaced late in the game on his return to Newcastle.

Dalglish shrugged off the incident and felt the player was aggrieved after being unfairly booked for diving.

However, the Liverpool legend seems to be running out of patience with his biggest liaibility in the squad.

“Kenny has gone out of his way to protect Carroll from criticism. He’s straight with his staff, but many people here are concerned that players like Andy have not adapted to the Liverpool way,” the Daily Mirror reported quoting a Liverpool insider.

Carroll has also told friends he would ironically welcome a return to Tyneside, it added.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew is an admirer of Carroll and feels Liverpool have not been able to get the best out of the player.

But Carroll would have to take a pay cut because his current wages would break Newcastle's pay scale and they would only be interested in a cut-price summer deal, the report added.
