Liverpool: Are you ready for the magic?

New Kop boss Brendan Rodgers risks putting all his eggs in one basket with his determination to bring a Barca-style revolution at Anfield.

Hailed at Swansea for successfully adopting the Catalan club's 'tiki-taka' style of play to be dubbed the Barcelona of Welsh clubs, Rodgers wants to stamp his mark at the Reds.

There is no room for lumbering players like England star Andy Carroll in his grandiose plans while his move for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott shows his intent.

That is to continue employing the Swansea-Barca style of play to revive the glory days of Liverpool.

Reds icon Kenny Dalglish flattered to deceive during his spell in charge but was preoccupied with having to defend his mega stars Luis Suarez and Carroll for different reasons.

He paid the price for Liverpool languishing in midtable despite being in two Cup finals and ending a six-year trophy drought by landing the Carling Cup.

He is confident of retaining Uruguayan sharpshooter Suarez but believes Carroll is excess baggage. He is desperate to sign England star Walcott but it depends on Carroll.

The Geordie giant is wanted by former club Newcastle — but their initial bid of a season-long loan with a view to a £12 million deal was laughed out of Anfield.

Carroll cost £35 million when he arrived from Tyneside 18 months ago and the Toon wanted Liverpool to pay part of his £80,000-a-week wages.

Liverpool will try to recoup £20 million when they offload Carroll, according to The Sun.

And if Liverpool can find a buyer, that would allow Rodgers to follow his capture of Italian striker Fabio Borini by bringing in Fulham’s American ace Clint Dempsey and finance a £15m bid for Walcott.

Rodgers could get into a quagmire and Liverpool in the process if Carroll remains.
